Amani Birth Training 2017 : FAQ

FAQ Amani Birth Training May 2017
QUESTION 1:
Participants may have very different levels of knowledge about birth, such as the more experienced birth workers and advocates and on the other end of the spectrum, the newcomers with little basic knowledge.
Would this be a problem in terms of how the course can progress to cater the different levels of knowledge?

ANSWER 1:
First of all, we will be going over the same materials that we will use when teaching new parents, so obviously, the participants who have little to no experience will gain what they need, insha’Allah, just from that.
As for the more experienced, there is always something new to glean and they will enrich the workshop with their experiences as well.

QUESTION 2:
Regarding the Book Review (to certification as Teacher and/or Doula), does it matter when we read the book, i.e a long time ago prior to the workshop?

ANSWER 2:
Yes! Books read in the past can be used. So long as you can fulfill the requirements from memory, or re-read/skim through to do so.

QUESTION 3:
For the Doula Birth Report (to certify as Doula); can the birth be one that I attended before the workshop?

ANSWER 3:
Since it requires only one doula birth (most organizations want three or more), it should be AFTER training, not before.

I am not a Muslim, can I attend this course?
